Diving notes

The entry point is located on the Boathouse Country Inn which is private property. You should ask permission. It is possible that they refuse. Usually, the dive can be done if for example, you take a night stay. During summer, there is too much boat traffic at the wharf. It is mostly preferable to go during off season (automn or spring).

The picture on the left shows the restaurant with the boat ramp at its right. The picture on the right shows the passage way leading to the wharf of the Boathouse Inn (on the right side).

Looking toward the river, the Boathouse Inn is located just to the right of the boat ramp. It is mandatatory to ask permission at the front desk. It is mostly recommended to leave your vehicule into the large parking lot of Rockport.

From the wharf, the dive starts with a surface swim toward West up to the rocky formation within the same axis as the wharf. At this place, the schooner can be found at a depth of 65’. While following the rocky formation toward West, the wall will be found. Depth can reach 100’.

You can make the circuit from point 2 to 1 or vice versa. It is at point 2 that you will find the wreck of a schooner Sophia(?) and the old wharf. The wall is located toward point 1. The depth may reach a 100’.

First see the picture wharf’s picture of Roger Wood and the underwater pictures of Richard Laroque for more details.
