Road directions
Approximative travel time : 1:45 hr

From highway 401, take exit 730 leading to Cardinal. Take the South direction on Shanly Road (also known as road 22).

To get to Conestoga

Cross road 2 (King’s Highway). In the curve going left, keep your right and get the first exit on your right. Follow and cross the bridge over the channel, you will then be on the island. Go on your right toward the red top pavillion (picture below).

On the picture above, take the gravel road in front the red top pavillion. It is bumpy and dirt. Follow the road on about 0.9km and as soon as you will see the chimney of the Conestoga (about 30’ from the shore) you will find a place on a narrow parking area where the road gets a bit larger (please leave room for others).

To get to other sites

Turn left on on road 2 heading West. Continue for about 1km and turn South on Galop Canal road heading to the St.Lawrence River. Go to the end of the gravel road, cross the bridge and park your vehicule on the island while taking the less possible space. There are sometimes a lot of visitors during summer.

If you do the drift dive, it is mostly preferrable to go with 2 vehicules or more. One vehicule has to be parked at the Conestoga site, the other one allows to get to sites 2 and 3. At the end of the dive, the 1st vehicule allows you to return to sites 2 and 3 (or vice versa) and get the other vehicules. Otherwise it is a long walk back...in a wet suit.
