Dive site characteristics
Behavior to have: respect the environment and the fauna. Watch your buyancy in order not to dammage the shipwrecks. Please take picture and leave the artifact. WARNING be sure to dive a slack tide. At any other time, the shoals near the shore combined with other meteorological conditions can produce strong currents during high or low tide (consult Secrets of the St.Lawrence).
The dives are done from the shore (except otherwise). The water current is mild (except otherwise) at low tide. Ask to local authorities. The dives are done in sea water, watch your buoyancy. Raise the weight on your weight belt accordingly. A 7.5mm thick neoprene wet suit is mandatory. A dry suit may be more suitable depending of your comfort habits. Water temperature varies around 4°C (40°F).
The shipwrecks are part of a preserve program that a preservation group Groupe de préservation des vestiges subaquatiques de Manicouagan tries to put forward.
Bring a certain amount of soft water in order to rince at least your regulator. There is no facility.
Note: directions are accurate as possible. It is recommended to go with someone who knows the site. Please take pictures and leave all the artefacts in place.
