The picture on the left shows a montain (debris excavation) on the North side of the road 112 (located on the East part of Thetford Mines). Once you it, this is the direction the direction where the Flintkote quarry is located. The picture on the center shows the entry point located in the bay (#1 & #2). The picture on the right shows the entry points that you will see while getting on the quarry site (all the others).

On the panoramic picture, you can see the road to follow in order to get on the left to the 1st parking. Following the road (using the dive flag road signs), you will get to the 2nd parking lot in the bay of the other side of the quarry between the cliffs.

It is shore dive. Watch you descent, your depth and your air. Depth may reach 50m...be carefull. The water has a beautiful turquoise color. The visibility is quite extraordinary.

45′  The habitacle is a concrete loader. A line leads to it.
 3-L’ordinateur
80′  The computer, installed under the dock. A line leads to it.

60′  The great cliff There is a line leading to the site.
 5-La bouée
33′  The buoy a good visual reference mark.
 6-Le ski-doo
134′  The skidoo the line from the buoy splits near the computer and leads to the skidoo on a rocky platform.
 7-La cuisine
96′  The kitchen. After a surface dive, you will see a buoy 5′ underwater. The line leads directly to the kitchen. There is a table, a fridge and a stove. Just beside, there is a washer and a dryer.

Don’t get into troubles, make a reservation (access fee will be asked 8$ in 2004).

From Montreal, take highway 20 toward Quebec city. Take exit 228 and follow road 165 South toward Black Lake. Once arrived on road 116, turn left at the red light heading East. Continue for few more kilometers. After crossing some read lights, wath for road 165 which then continue again and turn right South. Follow up to road 112. Turn left on road 112 heading to Thetford Mines heading East. Out of the town (2-3km) you will see a montain on the North side of the road, watch for the red light. Turn left on the Flintkote road heading North. The quarry is 2km away on the left side of the road.

For you convinience, take note that it is much preferrable not to go on rainy days. Your vehicule might get stuck in the mud. Remember it’s an old desaffected quarry but still one.

On site you pay your entry fee. Follow the road on your left. For the 1st entry point, it is suggested to back up down with your vehicule, it will be much easier to load your your equipement. You will not be able to manoeuver your vehicule at the bottom of the slope. To get to the 2nd entry point follow the indication arrow on the dive flag road signs.
