The picture on the left shows the ponton at the wharf. Please take note that you can load and unload your gear but you cannot park in front of the wharfs. The picture on the right shows the lake looking toward the entry point no. 4. on the diagram.

The temperature at the surface is at 55°F and 40°F under the thermocline which is at ~27’. The bottom is located at 272’.

The dives are done from a boat (except otherwise). You may dive with a local dive operators, please make a reservation. A 7.5mm thick neoprene wet suit is recommanded. A dry suit may be more suitable depending of your comfort habits.

If you dive with the local charter, you mus fill and sign the disclaimer (in French only).

 1-La Pirogue
25  An old wood canote made with a tree trunk.
 2-Pointe Ouest de l’Île
At the West side of the island. Rock formations and fishes.
 3-Sud de l’Île
30-40  Old bottles and fishing material. Be carefull of the fishing lines.
 4-Pointe Est de l’Île
The is a steel boat. Going North, you can see a cliff not so high. Near shore there is a beaver hut. Flat rocky bottom.
 5-Haut fond Baie-Martin
50  A cliff with a plateau.
 6-Falaise Baie-Martin
A small cliff with rocks where there is one which looks like a gorilla.
 7-L’ancien Hotel
20-40  The ruins of an old hotel. Don’t try to go on the terrain, the RCMP is there. Why? It’s the ex-Prime Minister of Canada summer residence.
 8-La Falaise
20-130  A vertical cliff.
 9-Ancre & bateau
20-160  A yacht, a boat and an anchor. Toward North-West a cliff with a stairs style with a depth of 160′.

Approximative travel time : 1:45-1:55 hr

Don’t get into trouble, if you dive with the local charter, have your C-card. Otherwise have a cell phone and some emergency measures.

From Montreal, take highway 40 going East up to highway 55 going North. Take exit 220 (Biermans/Vallée du Parc) and turn left toward Vallée du Parc. Once arrived at the level of the 50th street turn right. Take the 35th street while turning left. Follow the road over a distance of about 4,2km. Turn right toward Piles lake. You may continue (~800m) to the Prévost marina which will be on your left (large parking lot). Go down the slope, pay you parking place (restaurant owner) and drop your equipment near the ciment quay. Get back to the entrance road and park your vehicule over there (gravel parking lot).
