Site Depth Characteristics
1- Récifs 20-35′ From the shore, the dive is done near the islands (îlets).
2- Récifs 65-100′ From the shore, by boat, the dive is done on the North side of the islands (îlets).
3- I.V. No.4 ? Wrecked on december 13th, 1959 near the public wharf of Les Méchins. Informations listed in the shipwrecks inventory of le Musée de la Mer. A this time (sept. 2, 2007), we don’t know if the wreck is still there and if we can dive on it. Please let us know if you have any informations. Diver’s services
Approximative travel time : 03:00 hrs From highway 20, leaving from Rivière-du-Loup (where the highway 20 becomes road 132). Head up to Rimouski, then to Mont-Joli, Matane and finally to Les Méchins.
Source: Transports Canada (photo #1) & SHC (photos #2 & #3) On the aerial picture (the left one), you can see the shipward. The dive site entry point is located outside the village ie very far at West of the shipward of Les Méchins at allmost 4km West. The center picture shows the Îlets. The right picture (dating from 1974) shows the old wharf (today disappeared) in front the Îlets.
