It is a dive with current like there are many on the St.Lawrence River in Ontario. In the case of the two dive sites, it is important to take your bearings. The visibility can be reduced depending of rain conditions during the days before the dive. It is also quite recommended not to let you drift in the seaway.

 1-Belvédère
25-35′  The dive is done along the cliff. It is important no let you drift. It is recommended to decent while going against the current and doing the ascent while drifting as little as possible in order to get back to the entry point. Please take note of the current separation (between the lake and the river) near the site might be confusing.
 2-Pont Larocque
50′  It is a shore dive. You dive on the left of the boat ramp or on the right side of the wharf. A dive flag is mandatory due to boat trafic mostly in the summer season.
Road directions
Approximative travel time : 1:00 hr

From Montreal, take highway 40 heading West which will merge with highway 20. At exit 14, take road 201 heading South toward Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. After crossing the bridge, turn on your right on St-Alexandre street. Follow with road directions frm Victoria street.

Alternative route. From the South Shore, follow road 132 heading West from Mercier bridge over a distance of ~35km (you will go through Châteauguay, Léry, Beauharnois, Melocheville and Saint-Timothée cities) up to Valleyfield. At he intersection with road 201, you must continue straight ahead following the road which will havve several names like Boul. Hébert, rue Dufferin, Jetée Victoria and finaly rue Victoria.

Road directions from Victoria street

From Victoria street, heading North-West, continue up to chemin Larocque and turn on your left heading South. Then count about 10 blocks or more while watching for rue St Jean-Baptiste East, then turn on your right and drive up to the end. The street ends by a loop, you are at the right spot. Unload your gear and park your vehicule away from the circle lane (you might get a ticket).
